fairing wiring
Had my inner fairing painted last November, just getting around to reinstall it and cannot find a good pic in the Harley service book of the wiring. Anybody have a front shot of a 05 or up ultra with the outer fairing removed?
Hopefully somebody will have that for you but if I am not mistaken and if a 05 is simliar to newer models it looks much worse than it really is because all the connectors are different and will only fit their counter parts, meaning you can't plug connectors into the wrong plugs. The main loom goes across the top of your radio and all the plugs kind of fall into place due to their lengths and style of plug. It's a little late now but this is why most folks will take a few digital pics before the tear-down. You might try the search also you never know, you might get lucky and find something that will help.
Here's a pic of a Street Glide I took today at my local HD store. I replaced the police interconnect harness on my '04 EG with the civilian harness and wanted to see how the interconnect harness was routed.
It's not an Ultra, but should be close to the same as your bike:

Decent representations of the connectors' locations are in the Service Manual, including one at the back which identifies the connectors by number.
Also, the wiring diagrams show the wire colors for the various connectors so you'll know which connector goes to a gauge, a mating connector, etc.
For a good installation, you will need a couple of zip ties with the plug on the receiver end of the zip tie. The main wire bundle that goes above the radio uses such a zip tie and is "plugged into a hole tab in the mount for the speedo to hold it in place.
Good luck with your project.
