Default Rear head Change

Dealer did a warranty on the rear cyl head due to the black wrinkle flaking off...

Engine has 19,980 on it.... Any thoughts on how the head looked in regards to the mileage?

Thanks..

I am surprised by the amount of carbon buildup around the right valve; seems much higher than I would expect to see a a lean burning engine with only 19,980 miles.

Theres a lot of crude around the intake valve.
Is there a lot of build up on the valve stem under the guide?
Leaky valve guide seal?

Just a thought, but with the breathers venting into the air cleaner, wouldn't the constant mist of oil being ingested by the engine give visual clues similar to what a bad valve guide would??

"Dealer did a warranty on the rear cyl head due to the black wrinkle flaking off..."

Hello
I just wanted to ask about the powder coating. I have a 08 FXDSE2 (3485miles) and have some powder coating flaking by the machined edge of the cam cover. Harley gave me some touch up paint HAHA Its not even the correct color. Did Harley pay for this or did you have to pay for this. If they paid for it would you mind if I use your case as a reference that they have done it in the past.

I even asked Harley customer service if they paid 25K for a bike would they use finger nail polish to fix powder coat. All I got was a long pause HAHA go figure.

Thanks Mike

I talked to HD today about the powder coating. I think we made some head way because the HD rep took over the case for me and said he will be in contact by middle of next week.
