I looked at a guy's '07 street glide that he was in the process of changing into a road glide this past weekend. He said the frame tabs are there for the fairing mounts. A lot easier to do than one would think.

You might consider replacing the neck zerk fitting with a 45 or 90 degree fitting before installing the fairing. You will need wiring extensions and additions for quite a few items, I.E. fuel, oil pressure, air temp, battery, radio and dual headlights.
