Default Measurements

I'm looking to get a cycle shed or bike barn. I still have the bike taken apart and cannot let it down to get the measurements. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I hope this isn't too confusing. I need the six measurements on this photo with the bike on the jiffystand and bars to the left (like most bikes sit i'm guessing)

Thanks,

BM

For the cost of a shed you can buy an enclosed trailer. I'll measure my bike and post back though.

KY_ACE,
So as to better answer you request(s), can you elaborate on the purpose for this 'cycle shed' some? Is this just to store the bike when you aren't riding? Is there a reason for only going as high as the highest point on the mirrors? Width? Length? Are there construction limitations for this that may be helpful?

(sorry if this sounds dumb; I'm a computer systems engineer, so I kinda live by 'requirements')

I'm a mechanical engineer, so i live by measurements!! Yes, I'm trying to see if it will fit in a Standard size bike barn because I've found one for $150. I'll post a pic of the measurements it has so you can get an understanding of why i need the highest point at certain distances from the longest point.. (Until then, It's not a rectangular box, it's more of a half octogonal section that's 46" or so wide)

If this helps you at all, I have a bike barn Tourer version for my 08 Ultra, and I am very happy with it.

I have a detach kit fitted so often the bike is parked without the tourpak fitted and the Tourer version is, in that case, too big but...I think the standard version would be very tight and awkward.

The reason the tourer is as large as it is is to clear the tourpak (I am also a mech eng so I also do measurements!)

However, you may miss one key thing by just looking at the overall dims you are asking for. It is not entirely clear from the data sheets but virtually half the length of the barn is "fixed" and width wise the barn is a bit tight when the bike is on the jiffy stand and you are climbing on or off.

For this reason you wouldn't want to park the bike in the barn much deeper than the front line of the seat lining up with the pivot point.

I agree you almost certainly could...but in the long run it would probably annoy you. Hence there is a fair amount of "dead space" in front of the bike. I use it to store "stuff"

Hope this makes sense. Bike Barn is a good product

Thanks for your input sg, that really helps me. I'm still not sure, if I can get a used standard version for $150 and I can't find a tourer version for less than 390(new from fleabay). If I buy a NEW one I think I might spring the extra $50 and get the trike edition so I can put my mtn bike in the front of it!

Later,

BM

If you don't have space constraints then trike version would be great, that wasn't available when I bought mine, but I would now if I could do it over again.
