Default Osram/ Sylvania HID light

I picked up a HID light the other day and I was wanting some more info on them. Does anyone run one of them on their bike? This unit is the D1 S series. It uses the 1 kv HID ballast same as Viper or Vett. Any problems with the install or wireing it up? It has a ground, a lead to power the bulb and one for the shutter for bright/dim. Thanks. Update..... No wonder it was so cheap. I pluged it in to a battery in the garage and after about 5 minutes the wires went up in smoke. Anyone know anything about this unit?????

I found the problem. Shorted wire. Replaced them and it works.. What I've learned, is the power transformer on this unit is just that, a transformer. The light housing holds the bulb and a solenoid that opens and closes the (window shade) to limit the top of the light coming out of the lense. Still would like to see if anyone uses one of these units?

I got about $200 in it. It's a Keryakin? unit I think. That is what the picture on their site shows. I just was wanting to see if other folks have used one of them

I traded for it from a local guy that is always coming up with something different. He's had it for a while, thinking it was a custom light to put on an old school bobber he's trying to build. After I got it I thought I had see one before, then I started searching to see where. The balist was easy. I looked on ebay and it told me vett or viper. But the light, it's custom housing. But it's a kuery unit. Take a look there for a HID headlight. It's the one without the 3 raised ribs. Sort of cyclops looking, but from my experience, one heck of a light. The list on it was over $500. WOW The only drawback, there is no mounting rings as shown in the kury site. So I took a hd set and reshaped them in the shop. Took about 2 hrs. of playing. Wifes VW bug has the same light I think. And they are awsom. Period.
