Default Great Mod

Thanks for the tip on the napa horn. I installed a lenale fan where the existing horn is and moved the horn to the frame downtube. Don't really like the new horn location and think the napa horn might be the answer.Don't really care about the sound, as long as its' loud.

Thanks

I dont think that would work on my 07, just not enough room with the ECM and all that other stuff under my side cover. Might work on the other side, I'll have to look and see.

On my '05 that's not going to work...........ECM is behind the right side cover. Left side cover has the cruise control module and fuse block.

I'm looking for a good, clean, hidden idea for my '05........I hate the horn thing hanging there.

I'm not sure how big that cover is, but this thing is like 3" in diameter.

Default Horn relocation

I wanted a second horn out front of my bike. Harley has a high out put horn they made for softails and dyna's. It comes with a wiring harness that enables you to run them in series by plugging one into the other in the harness. I made the bracket that I have mounted to the down tubes in the pictutes but you could easily use the one given with the horn. I think the bracketry supplied with the horn for the Dyna is probably the easiest to use. The part # I have for this Dyna horn is 69181-02. The softail version is 69180-02a. It is also not in the newer catalogues . They usually have them in the Dyna/Softail section at your dealer. The horn is a nice compliment to the original horn plus it's chrome cover looks good. Or I guess you could run it alone. The newest catalogue I have with it in there is 05.

Great idea Aaron, I'm like MaineUltra. Mine is also an 05, so no room under the side cover. BUT, sence I don't have dual exhaust anymore. I have 2 into 1, and have a void behind the rear cyclinder. I put my minni blaster there. Its tite but fits pretty well. Still have the cow bell, but nothing is in it.

I tried the NAPA horn, it's no louder than stock horn on an '06. I don't know where they get their decibel rating from.
