Thumbs down Tbw problems

My Bike has been in the shop for 2weeks now and there talking changing the wiring harness (What a piece of **** this bike has turned out to be)

This is like the 4th time in the shop and they can't figure it out theyv'e changed the twist grip sensor like 4 times the induction module and even the ecm.

I will be riding the bike and all of a sudden i will loose the throttle nothing no response and the bike will go into limp mode and shoot the error codes in the speedo.

Harley will spends thousands trying to figure this out rather then give me a new scoot.

I did change the bars out but it should'nt be doing this.

Any electrical gurus on here

how long does it take to swap a wiring harness out??

Same thing happened to me, I had 5 codes all for EFI and TB correlation issues. I have an indy who does all my work, the hell with MOCO, and he changed back to the stock TB and injectors we had done with my motor work. I have not had a problem since. I don't want to say its the SERT b/c I have a PCIII but I might look there.

Best of luck

Screw TBW......I knew this was coming.....I stated it here.

Yeah, cars have had it forever, but HD don't build cars, and when they attempt this kinda crap they go cheap and toss their mistakes on their customers as usual.

I will never buy another HD. The MOCO cannot stand up and be honest about thier mistakes. American men do that, but HD doesn't.

TBW works as long as the cumputer is ok...how many time has has your desk top or lap top crashed. There should be some kind of back up.... Every time some one starts talking about TBW, My mind goes back a few years to when that Airbus airliner flew down the runway on landing and flew right into a forest..Boom The pilot was fighting the stick (computer controled) all the way till it hit the ground. TWB ....No thanks

Pounder...at times we just get the bike with all the issues...I'm sorry that's you. Replacing the wiring harness might be a fix...let's keep our fingers crossed for you. Now...can the tech handle it? Well, I sure hope so...or they have no biz being a tech...but again...we all know there's various levels of experience in each shop...also at this juncture...do you have much of a choice?

And to the poster about TBW and it being bad. I have a 2008 SG with TBW and have Zero issues. All bikes, cars and other mechanical things break...have issues and what not. To target the TBW...well...give me a break...not everyone has this issue! Just like the rear wobble...we know alot of bikes have it...he!!, Mine has it...but not all of the bikes do! So...just because you have issues with your bike and stated that TBW was bad doesn't mean it is...it just means you had a bad unit! Your stating about cars is BS too...even new models of cars, or a change to a existing model usually always brings issues...even recalls at times...and gee, they've been making cars for over a hundred years! PLease take your negativity and post it in our negative rider forum! The OP was looking for help...not your BS!

Pounder...things like this often take time...hopefully it'll work out! And you're right...if it keeps heading into the shop...they should replace it...it's called a lemon! That happens in cars too and there are federal laws covering those issues! Worst comes to worst...call the regional Harley rep and state your case...right now they need all the positive publicity and warm fuzzy stories they can generate!

Good Luck, Mike

Well can sure feel for you having the bike sit in the shop for 2 weeks.. Was a little leery of TBW when first got it but after almost 8,000 miles has worked perfect and even changed out a set of custom grips and didn't hurt it a bit ... ( Knocking on Wood )
