Default Bagger Brace Install Tips

Ok I have read A LOT of Bagger Brace threads, but I dont remember reading much on some tips on the install.

Mine will be here tomorrow, and hope to install it on Saturday Morning.

Any tips on using Blue Lock tite, or Never seize on the bolts??

Thanks for the replies

Great choice!

No tips to recommend other than using a little anti-seize on the countersunk allen heads that bolt the brace to the crossmember (use blue locktite on the threads and anti-seize on the countersunk part of the bolt). The counter sunk holes are machined so perfectly that, over time, those bolts may gall to the metal. Also as instructed, make sure the crossmember is flat.

Other than that very smooth install.

I have not read thru the instructions that are on their web site, but play to print them off tomorrow and I was not sure if it mentioned the use of locktite or the anit-seize or not.

Thanks, anyone else out there with any tips on this?

Install is pretty simple.......only one way things can go on. Biggest thing is to make sure your cross member is flat, if not the brace won't fit between it and the oil pan.

I used loc-tite on the threads as the instructions say...........don't want those babies coming loose.

My cross member isn't flat and I can't get the brace on. I tried to get it straight, but no luck so far.

Within one of the many threads posted I did read where I think it was True Track had a tool to straighten the cross member, and other where I read of people making their own tool to do this too.

I should have mine some time later next week. Doing an Catskill overnight on the 30th with sport bikes. This should be a good test for the brace.

Easy install. QUALITY design and build. As stated, the crossmember has to be straight because the tolerances are extremely tight..........and for good reason. The anodized black, if this is the one you've purchased, is barely visible and actually flows with the underside of the bike.

You'll love it regardless of the naysayers/pundits. It'll transform the handling (or lack thereof) of your bike.

Report your findings.

I called a local dealer today that has a tool rental program. Thought they might have the tool. I told them the cross member was bent and I wanted to put a bagger brace on. They told me that they would just replace the frame. I amnot doing that. lol
