Relocation is the key word. Don't make a big fuss with the landlord. Don't tell anyone your plans and relocate the cat to a new neighborhood. Problem solved.
What ever you do, don't try to handle a frightened cat. I tried that many years ago and ended up in the hospital with infected cat bites to the hand. Damn doc kept me there for 3 days. The ex-wife's cat was faster than me when a relative brought over his Rottweiler, I should have let the dog eat its lunch.
When you have a problem with someones animal, cat, dog, whatever, it's really a problem with the owner. Because of either apathy or ignorance. Go to the source of the problem, the owner. Have him take responsibility, pay for the damage, and do what is necessary to mitigate the problem. Handle it like an Adult.
OK. Now I need some help. I also have problems with neighbors' cats. I liked the idea of using moth ***** so last night I caught seven moths, however, I could not find ***** on any of them. How damn big are the moths where you live?
I also like the idea of pouring vegetable oil on the cat and sending it back home. However, I will have to break the local law by trapping the cats since they will not approach me. Dang solutions are hard to come by.
I went today and bought a carton of Repel, the stuff they sell a walmart to keep dogs and cats out of places. I put it in a cloth bag on the bike and got some of the hanging type moth ***** for a closet. By the way, the dealer price to replace the damaged parts and labor came to over $1200. Sure got the cat owners attention. I just came in from a ride and put them on the bike about 15 min. ago. I'm leaving at 4am to meet up with some folks for a ride tomorrow, just the length of this Island in the mountains, can't be too bad. I'll see then how the stuff works.
Reminds me of when I was a kid and the neighbor dude thought he would euthanize their cat peacefully by holding it under a piece of carpet under the exhaust of their running volkwagen van, this is like 1974 or so. The cat did not go peacefully.
Same moron castrated his own dog and made his son help him This was a very good dog mind you.
I swear some people are really big a-holes.
Poisoning doesn't seem right. I've known a fair number of true a-holes in my life and I wouldn't mind witnessing some of them go through the throws of a painful poisoning death but there is nothing macho or brave about harming animals.
What happened to your seat is just plain wrong, but unless I'm wrong, I doubt the cat had something against you personally. If you must though, kill it with your bare hands and make it quick for it's sake.
Then again, if it was my seat I might poison it too. Never know.
