It is amazing how fast things like this can happen with very little time to react. Sounds like you did the right things to keep her up and glad your ok. The cager should treat you to drinks at that biker bar he works at for life !

Some countrys make it mandatory to be in the military for a couple of years. I think that everyone should have to ride a bike for at least that long just to know what it is like...

Thank God that you were able to keep it up. I went down at about that speed. Luckely it was in a dirt median between the freeways. It ain't what I'd call fun. Still home recovering 5 weeks later and it's still gonna be a while.
