Default speedo

My Speedo on my new road king doesn’t return to zero. It stays at 3 or 4 MPH is that the norm? Thanks George

Does it seem to show proper speed when riding? If so, you may not want to mess with it. If it's under warranty, I would have it replaced.

This is actually not all that uncommon. In fact, the more your ride is pointed East the higher the reading will be. This has to do with the natural earth's rotational velocity. Depending upon barometric pressure, you can even have a negative speed if the ride is pointed to the west and the pressure is low. Readings also change with the seasons because of the relationship of the earth's positioning to the sun.

By the way, some say this is reversed in the southern hemisphere but that is not true. The typical reason for the variance is barometric pressure.
