That headlamp assembly (not the H4 bulbs its the housing that would break) is about $150 at the 20% off dealers. I have the hardened assy on order (it was about $50) but I do not know if it can be fitted to the older assemblies. I'll post when I recieve it.
My mistake , I did mean the assy, that's what I posted the purchase link for earlier. Good catch, I didn't mean exactly the H4 bulb.
how does the SG bezel mount does the fairing have to come off , does the stock bubble bezel just pop off ???????????i have a 09 RG
Keith, you may need to use a small flathead screwdriver with a thin cloth wrapped around it to protect the paint. Gently pry it off, and then snap on the bezel. Use the new bezel to identify where the tabs are on the bubble, so you can pry close to them.
Holy Crap! Ordered a new one from an HD Dealer on E-bay on Saturday, it showed up today on my front porch. Two minutes to pop out the old and in the with the new...LOOKS AWESOME!
Thanks for providing the part numbers and discussion!
Same here on no stock headlight problems running without the bubble, and I don't even have the new bezel--I just run it nekkid. Rode to Sturgis and back just fine, not much gravel flying around though.
