I have the riders backrest for my bike, and honestly i can't stand it. The pitch of the bracket is too far forward, even after bending the posts slightly on the backrest itself to fix the angle, it still makes me feel like i'm being pushed forward. When using my Tallboy seat, its even worse since it pushes the front of the opening forward and into my lower back. anyone looking to buy a slightly used rider backrest?!

Adjustable and it never comes off the bike except to remove the seat or load up solo long haul luggage. Wife likes it and says it's not in the way at all.

man this is tempting information. i've never ridden with one, and my streetglide although i did replace the ungodly uncomfortable stock streetglide seat with a roadglide seat, is very comfortable now. i'm thinking it'd really be comfortable with the addition of the riders backrest. it's gotta be a lot harder to get on and off the bike though, right?

I added a riders backrest this spring will the sole intention of only leaving it on when I go on trips. Well, it has been 4 months now and it has never been off the bike. I can not live without it. It does go on and off in seconds too. I have to say it is one of the better additions that I put on

I bought one on eBay too. Mine stays on all the time. Wife likes it because it has a storage pouch where she can keep things. Dosent interfear with her comfort and I love it for mine. We often take long trips and it helps. I have road tripped without and with. I prefer with.

I have the adjustable riders backrest... Love it. Wife doesn't mind makes her feel more secure. I can say from experience that if you get hit from behind like I did 2 weeks ago, It will help you stay on the bike. Down fall it can hurt your lower back in the same situation.

Thanks Philthy.

I am kind of torn between the adjustable or that one that you have to take off to adjust. Do they both flip forward so wifey can get on easier?

I have the new and improved adjustable one. I couldn't ride a bike without a backrest.
Well I could, but I couldn't do it two days in a row. If you know what I mean.
