Default Rider Backrest

Just bought the HD rider backrest and installed it. First it had to be one of the easiest installs ever, clear instructions and no problems. It really only took 10 minutes. I didn't get a chance to test it out, but starting Saturday I am riding to Michigan, New Jersey and New York, so I will get a real good test.

Here is the part # 51631-09A and a pic .

Here is the kit you will also need:
52589-09

Required to install rider backrest on '09-later Touring models (except FLHTCUTG).

MSRP US $29.95

I am really looking froward to the ride with it. Just sitting on the bike after the install felt good!

One you get it set you will never ride without it again. Love mine. Installed it myself. Dealer wanted 1-1.5 hours of labor to do it.

Without a doubt, best addition I ever did on the bike (and I've done a lot).

Ditto as above. Don't know why I ever ride without it.

Loved mine once the adjustments were made. Wifie does not like it beacuse she claims she feels "confined" with it in place. I remove with 2up but use regularly when solo. Enjoy and ride safe

Same here. I leave it on all the time solo and remove when the wife rides. Works great. I think this is probably the best thing I have added to my bikes

I put on an adjustable rider backrest this past winter too. I got a helluva deal on a new kit off ebay (paid $10 more than my neighbor who bought a used regular backrest). Only time I took it off was when it was sitting in the parking lot at the hotel in Wisconsin Dells a few weeks back as I didn't want it to grow legs overnight. Wife hasn't been on the bike yet this year so I'm not sure if it will come off when she rides or not. I'm guessing it will come off.
