There's a write up on the seat in the new issue of HOG magazine. There's a picture that shows the seats features.

Here's the diagram from HOG magazine and a photo from the accessories page. I'm not convinced the seat would be more comfortable over many miles than an air seat. Have you ever sat in a sling seat (like a director's chair) for very long? I'll wait to hear some long-term test results...

Very true, but a directors chair doesn't have padding on top of the sling. Just a thought.

I can tell you first hand that the diagram they have posted is nothing like the real thing. I have worked on several of these and while they claim there is 2"s of foam in them, maybe on the sides but in the center of the seat where you actually sit there is only around 1" and towards the back of the seat where the taller riders will tend to shift to to stretch their legs better there is only a 1/2" of foam. The so called "Hammock" part of the seat is nothing more than fiber webbing that cheap furniture factories use on the backs of chairs, love seats and sofas. 2-3 months of heavy use and it will be sagging real bad especially for a heavier rider. Plus the foam is very poor quality. I don't know who HD has designing their seats but they don't know sh@t about seats.

I will give you guys a better report after we get back from vacation. I am 6' 2" 205 and for the limited time that I have used it so far I do like it, however everyone likes something different- just like oil, tires, pipes and so on.

Ya why bother buying another seat when you can have your own reworked better
at www.meancitycycles.com ?

From all I have read about BadX and his service he is TOP NOTCH !
Mind you I have not even had mine done yet.
It is just my observation from all the posts I have read here and other sites
about his work.

I have had BadX do my seat on my old Road Glide and it was far, far better than any other seat I have used in the past like Mustang and Corbin. I may be sending BadX my CVO hammoch seat for better foaming, but I leave for long trips in 3 weeks and I don't know if he can get mine in and done by then.

Told you guys that I would give you a report on the hammock seat after vacation. First off let me tell you that I have floorboard extenders and the floorboards moved forward as I am 6'2" and have a fairly long inseam. The reason I say this is that just moving the position of your feet makes a big difference in the way a seat will feel. Vacation was 10 days and 3700 miles total. My impression of the seat after this distance is still very good. The drivers section of the seat does not have as deep a "bucket" as the stock seat but is wider and somewhat flatter. The one thing I found myself doing was setting back further that normal maybe because I had removed the backrest to give the wife more room. After this time the seat still sets as good as it did the first day, no breakdowns or problems. The wife did say that she still was not used to it and really didn't know wheather she liked it or not, she had very little seat time before we left. The seat gave good support on some less that prefect roads so I was happy with that. All in all I guess I would give it a 8 out of 10, not bad for a factory built seat and will recommend it to anyone who is looking at this type of seat. Hope this gives you some good info. on the seat to help you make a decision if this is for you or not.
