I have decided to go with a 21" front wheel. My questions are: What modifications if any do i need to do to the front fender for it to fit? Also what size tire do I need? Thanks!
I just got done doing this with my 07 sg , New fender (klock works)and off hand dont remember all numbers on tire but its a metzler tire , I also cromed fork lowers and lowerd front end 1" new front tire will be 1.250" taller than stock 16" went to one brake rotor so had to change master cylinder also. Good luck Love the looks of mine.
If you have a 3.5" x 21" wheel, you may not need to do anything to your fender other than making the mounting holes oblong and inching the fender higher.
The Metzeler options are: 120/70-21 62h load rating, Part # 0307-0014
140/70-21 VRated Part # 0305-0069
We discuss this allot on this forum it should be a sticky.. just drill the back holes out on your fender to 3/8" and than pull up and tighten. Should be fine. You can also mount the wheel/tire combo tape a 1/4 nut onto the tire and spin it should clear the inside of the fender of not it needs to be a little higher. Rather than that should be fine. Just make sure you get the right hubs and bearings 01 should be 1mm. Avon/meitzler 120/70/21 on a 3.5" wheel.
