Default Factory headset problem

Factory headset problem: After purchasing an extra factory headset for my wife’s helmet I noticed it looked like cuts and small holes in the outer sheathing on the microphone boom. I did some checking and the one that came with the bike also had damage in the same locations. I have determined it was caused by the way they were packaged. My dealer ordered a replacement from their sister dealership and it was damaged also. They ended up ordering a replacement directly from Harley and had them check it before it was shipped. If you have purchased a new headset or an Ultra Classic you might want to check you headset for damage! I have included some pictures of mine although her mic had much deeper cuts (down to the metal). I don’t understand why a $200 headset is sent in a 10 cent cardboard box with no protection and a set of foot pegs is in packaging like Fort Knox?
