Default LED bulbs without load equalizer

Last month I installed a pair of red LED bulbs for my rear directionals
and all worked fine.....
Yesterday I installed a pair of amber LED bulbs for my front directionals
and all directionals are blinking at twice the rate as before.....I'm guessing this
is where the 'load equalizer' would come in to play.

Other than blinking twice as fast as normal, will this cause any ill effects
to the electrical system ??
I'm not interested in having the rear directionals on at all times, just as directionals only.

Thanks.........

Terry

It shouldn't really matter. Are the LEDs the same brand front and back?

There is no damage done, but blinking that fast might not be as noticable.

I did the same thing, installed LEDs in the rear and everything worked fine. Then when I did the front, they blinked normal 2-3 times then went double rate. It all comes down to the load the TSM/TSSM sees.

I ended up installing a Badlands Equalizer III plug/play module.........$70.

Correct, when you change out all of them, you need a LE. The best things would be a Badlands Illuminator, but since you don't want the run/turn/brake feature, just get the Badlands LE. Badlands is the only one that doesn't overheat.

+1 on Badlands. It will run any amount of LEDs and will never overheat because it is ceramic. The problem occurs because the LEDs do not draw as much current as a regular bulb and therefore the TSSM doesn't 'see' the LEDs. The Load Equalizer 'fools' the TSSM into thinking the current draw is what it is supposed to be.

Thanks everyone.........I'll eventually get the load equalizer, but until that happens I didn't want anything funky happening to the electrical system.
I don't have an unlimited cash-flow, so these little projects are being
done piece-meal style.

Greatly appreciate all the answers I get to my questions...
