Two New 09's
(Big congrats to you both! I know the feeling all too well. Drove 250 miles one way myself to get my new Police bike. That one was easy. Though my girl and I had planned on waiting to upgrade her bike, I liked this new one so much we decide to take the next big leap and days later I made a deal to get rid of my last bike, and trade her Softail in for two new bikes. A happy salesman. Threw my collector bike in the back of the truck which she drove up while I rode her Deluxe up for the big day. Damn that Deluxe was a pain in the *** to ride, such a tiny bike, for me. So, with the need to drive the truck back AND bringing two new bikes home, (and not wanting to flog a brand new motors) I loaded one bike in the truck and started riding the other bike. About every 50-60 miles we'd pull over, unload the one bike, load the one I was riding and repeat this process all the way home. No joke! Between varying the MPH and gears constantly, along with fuel stops and a bite to eat, 10.5 hours later we arrived home. Would I do it again? Hell yes.
The J&M is nice, but very pricey. Check around a bit though because I have seen their handlebar unit (JMCB2003?) for noticeably less than their list price. Don't buy direct unless you're loaded. A couple of our club members have them and they love them, for what it's worth.
The Scala Q2 is also something to look at. However, just like the Chatterbox and other battery operated units, their range and useable time is limited.
Very cool you each have you own ride. Stay safe and enjoy.
