Because it is OEM. In the catalog they are twice as much.

I'm not unhappy with the radio - now the speakers, on the other hand - well, they suck big time! But that's easy enough fixed with some Hog Tunes.

HK is best stock radio out there. Just take a look at what they put in a Wing or Victory and $500.00 is about 1/2 of retail. For my money I'll keep the HK, works good, sounds good.

The reason to dump a HK radio is because you can buy a Premier with all the bells a whistles Harley sticks you in the azz for individually. Usually 500 each for every add on.. Nav, Bluetooth.. etc..

Mine works just fine, if it were going to cost me 400-500 to replace, I'd spend the money on a good Alpine marine head unit.

Default HK radio

I sold mine for $375.00. I'm glad I did, the pioneer I put in my bike rocks. The HK radio does not have rca outputs, so when you put an amp on the bike, the amp amplifies the radio output = distortion. The HK is not a bad radio, until you want to upgrade, then it kinda sucks...

I do wish the HK had a headphone jack on it, but HK would have put one in if HD asked them to. To tell you the truth I think a lot of gee wizz add-ons are a waste of money, at least for me. I like to turn on the Moose and listen to CW songs while I cruise the country roads and enjoy the smells and sights. I don't really need a $2000.00 high fidelity sound system to do that.
