Question '09 Touring Frames

My '05 Road Glide has a slight wobble when I take my hands off the bars. I've done everything (belt adjustment, new tires, bearing adjustment). It's better but still there. Makes cruise control on highway annoying. Is this a chronic problem with pre-'09 tourers and is it fixed with the new frames? May be worth getting an '09 since Road Glides are out for '10.

No wobble with my 09 sharknose and I came from sport bikes so I would notice. Not sure of a wobble on 08's. I think you can by a "brace" or something like that to cure the wobble. Lot's of products out there.

This is one of the things that has made the 09s so attractive to some of the guys with older bikes. A lot of them believe the new frame has done wonders for the wobble, combine that with the new tread, it makes for better handling all around....

I can put my '09 in cruise and take my hands off the bike at 75mph and just roll on down the highway. No wobble and I can steer by shifting my weight.

You may have a loose head bearing. I had the same thing happen on my '03 Night Train. Once I tightened it up it took the wobble away. Make sure you use a torque wrench so you don't tighten it to much.

+1, that cured a wobble on my old Softail and on a friend's Sportster.
