I went riding last weekend with one of my buds, and we switched rides along the way. I instantly realized the the rear shocks on my EGC were cashed, as the ride was way smoother on his Road Glide. I knew my bike was bottoming out fairly often, but had nothing to compare it to.
My bud realized the same thing, and when we switched back he mentioned it to me. I figured I would have to get some new shocks, and started to look around, but at the moment, my slush fund is a bit tapped.
Yesterday, my bud stopped by out of the blue, and pulled a pair of almost new take-offs out of his saddlebag, and handed them to me. He laughed and said they were taking up space in his garage, and that I sure needed them more than he did.
25 minutes later, and I took the bike around the block, and it's like a whole new ride.
Good friends are indeed one of life's great pleasures!
Glad to hear there are still good people out there...... If you can use it pass it on to someone that can, some way so how it will come back to you...... Don't break the chain.
