Replacement Tires

I am looking to replace the tires on my 2006 Road King. I am looking at the Shinko brand. Anyone have any experience with this brand and will the bike fit a 140 series tire?

I love my E-3's though!

I have been running Shinko SR712 tires on my Ironhead for 10+ years. The have a good tread life and do great in the rain.

My buddy owns an Indy shop. He sells lots of them and never seems to have a complaint.

Shinko is kinda cheap...I had some on a Yamaha i had and they ran good and quiet no serious issues though...

i just put a metzler on my 2006 roadking last night, went with a 150 80 16 and it fit with no problems, the metzler is the 880 series.

I've got 40,000 miles on my '06 Road King and have had great service from stock Dunlops.

I average 9,000-10,000 on the rear tires and 20,000-25,000 on the fronts. Some say they don't like the Dunlops, but I've never had them give me anything less than than great handling, ride, and wet weather performance. Some of the other tires (Metzler) have a softer compound and could give you better "floorboard dragging" turn performance, however I'll save that for my sport bike.

I put a Metzer rear on my RK and it started showing cords at 7,800 miles. It rode well, but didn't have the service life of the Dunlops. I run Metzlers on my wife's bike and they have given great service. However, her bike is lighter and she isn't as "twisty" on the throttle as I am.

Just remember, asking about tires is like asking about which oil is the best, or which is better: blondes, brunettes, or redheads...
