Well, everyone knows HD makes their money on the sale of accessories, not bikes. They need to be offering outstanding discounts on their parts and apparel to lure people in to spend some extra cash on those. But walk up to a parts counter and ask for a discount and they'll say "can I help whose next in line?"

The World is not going to end, it's the American people that make this country strong. Our country will be back on top, and Harley will be there too. We are not a third world country no matter who is in office. Harley-Davidson has had it's ups and downs in over one hundred years, our nation has to over the last two hundred thirty years. Yes I remember the early 70's Harley was down in the AMF day, and I also remember the 90's when there was a waitting list at every Harley dealer, and list price was never seen. Time will tell, and all we can do is ride out the bad times while we ride into the good.

I keep seeing these posts about how bad shape Harley is in, but the truth is that the MOCO is still in the black, over $100 million last quarter. Some dealers are suffering, but the ones with strong service departments and accesory departments will survive with guys maintaining their older bikes. I still think the shares are a good deal.

Well, I bought my new 09 Roadglide in April so I'm helping out. And I've bought some Harley accessories at the dealers in the last few months.
