I have already lowered the rear with new shocks on my 08 E Glide Classic. The stealer said there is no reason to lower the front unless I just wanted too. This made me wonder if there was any reason other than looks to have this done? Any thoughts on this?
- looks
- lowering to flat foot for vertically challenged riders
- installation of a 21" front wheels to regain stock height
- different, more aggressive ride
If you like the look and functionality then do it. They bike is yours not the dealer, if you want the front lowered do it. My dad broke his back and he said it was the only comfortable way he could now back up the bike using more of his legs. I say do it. I did mine and it handle better.
I did the same as you with the shorter shocks and didn't plan to lower the front. After several long trips I changed my mind. With the rear lower than the front I tended to slide back in the seat when riding the interstate. This caused a hot spot on my lower back/azz. I had the front lowered to even it out and like it better. I also feel like I'm "in" the bike now and not "on top" of it. It also feels like the bike handles a little better since it's leveled out.
