Default Compression Release Install

I was driving on the interstate this weekend, and the compression release fitting on my rear cylinder decided to fly out, leaving me with a blue flame coming out the top of my cylinder. I bought the new compression release and installed, but I'm not sure I tightened it down all the way. I couldn't seem to get a deep socket over the bolt. I ended up using an open end wrench, but not sure I got it tight, as I couldn't verify the torque spec. Does anyone know if there's a special tool for this?

Steve,

Do you have a link to purchase a thin walled socket? I went to Sears over the weekend, and they didn't have any - neither did the local auto parts store or Ace Hardware.

I think I used the Blue Loctite when I did my install. The guy from the dealer said there was no trace of Loctite on the one that popped out (nice job by my dealer on the install).
