Default 2009 Touring Oil Cooler

If anyone has one installed, can you snap a pic and show the orientation of the mount where the oil filter goes on. It don't matter if the hose is connected or not.

Let me know if you installed it or if the dealer did it.

I am confused by looking all over the net.

If you could help me out I would appreciate it.

I am talking about how this part is mounted... This is not the exact part.

A have a friend with a Screaming Eagle roadglide that has the factory mounted oil cooler. The two hose connections are in the 12 oclock position. BTW: the oil cooler adapter in your picture looks like one for an 08 or older bike. The oil filter adapter on the 09 SE has more space between the oil filter and the hose connections. I'm going to try to put the cooler off my 07 on my 09 and was looking closely at the differences last Sunday. I don't have access to his bike for pictures presently, and hope my description helps.

Ok, I have a silly-a$$ed question ....

Have no experience with oil coolers, but know the benefits. Does it require additional oil, or just utilize the 'normal' amount?

I too have looked at mounting a cooler from an 08 on a 09.So far the problems I have encountered have been due to the frame tubes being a larger diameter and when the 08 adaptor is mounted in its correct position I believe it will not clear the frame.I guess thats the reason for the 09 adaptors hose connections being moved up in the 12 oclock position. Also the hoses on the cooler have been moved to one on each side instead of both being on the left side. Keep us posted on what you find out.

Nope, you can leave the filter on. I want to see the positions of the hoses. Seems like a resound 12 o'clock so far.

Your right, that is for an 08' and older, for a softail. Thanks for the input.
