Two speaker wiring?
Question about wiring the stereo in my Dragonfly fairing? The deck has output for 4 speakers, the fairing has only two speakers.
Can I or should I wire all four channels of the deck into the 2 speakers in the fairing?
Sony deck 52W X 4
Speakers two 3 way 9" oval rated @ 60W/300W peak
thanks

I would not wire it that way, best to look at the wiring diagram for the stereo, it will show wich wires feed the front right and left speakers and wich wires feed the rear right and left speakers. Identify the wires that feed the front right and left speakers and connect them to the speaker wire to feed your 2 speakers.
Hey Ted,
That's the way it is. Your stereo is capable of 4 speakers with ~50W to each speaker. Whether you hook up 2 or 4, the output power is the same to each speaker.
So, 2 speakers up front for now. Later, you can install speakers in the saddlebags and utilize the rear outputs.

Thanks guys, I wired the speakers to the front left and right output of the deck. Speakers are 3 way 9" ovals and it sounds pretty good. Also got the switched hot wire to the deck tied into the accessory switch on the bike. Now I dont have to hunt for that tiny on/off button that you have to hold for 3 seconds to turn the deck off.
Good idea about putting speakers in the bags.
Let there be tunes....
