Me and a friend are thinking about riding down on Sunday June 28th and coming home with my HOG group who are riding down on Monday for Million Mile Monday.
Anybody have any connections to a low budget motel/condo for one night? Low budget means something under or at $100 for the night. Safe/secure bike parking is a plus too.
Lots of choices in OC, from the old style beach true motel to the upscale...If you want the best price, try the web, or I would just go ride through the area along the boarwalk and check the places with vacancy signs...might be able to negotiate a better price for the night when they have empty rooms they want to fill..you are in Season down there, so the prices are elevated on the websites for standard rooms.
I just looked up the place I stay off season with the wife and dog when they allow dogs on the boards and beach. Off season they are like $60-80 a night looks like a little higher right now. But these places are privately owned mom and pop operations. I have parked the bike on the sidewalk right in front of the rooms. There are a ton of places like this down there.
never had the bike down there, but go there every other year on family vacation. We always stay at Francis Scott Key. Its a decent clean place right around your price range. Not sure what your looking for, I don't like staying right down in the middle of everything. Its about a mile out of town. With shuttles if you want to go down in the evening for drinks.

Looks like a great place..I'll give them a call....Thanks...
there are lots of places at OC to stay but for that price will be hard to find something nice and not a dive. go for the extra price and you will be very pleased. stay north of 70th st and away from teh boardwalk area. your bike will be safer and some hotels have special parking areas.
