How effective is the security system on my '07 King Classic? Can an audible device be added to the stock security system?

I believe it can. I bought a used Ultra from a friend of mine and he has the harley security system with an audible (siren) installed.

He also had LOJACK installed with an early warning system. If the bike is moved I get a txt message, a call to my cell and home and an e mail to 2 of my e mail addresses...

I figured if they take the bike....more power to em

Yes you can install an audible on your alarm. You can use the HD smart siren or you can do what a lot of others have and go with the Radio Shack siren mod. Do a search here on the forum for the Radio Shack siren and you'll get several hits. You can also use an HD pager that tells you if the alarm is going off while you are farther away from the bike

HD sells a siren (chirper) that can be easily added to your existing security system. Or, search the forum here for instructions to install a cheap radio shack siren. the HD one has a internal battery, so that it will work even if the bike's battery is removed.

the HD security system does stop the bike from being started. it is a good system, but you can upgrade it with the siren and even a remote pager telling you if the bike is being messed with.

Please expain how the HD security system does stop the bike from being started. Are you talking about hot wiring the igition? Are there any security systems that completely disables the starting system?

Personally, I use the steering head / fork lock if I'm that concerned. The answer to the question really has more to do with the size of the thief! The bigger they are, the easier it is to push it up the ramp and on to the truck, at which point the alarm siren means little. But even a big, big, big thief will have trouble if the bike only wants to go left!

The Smart Siren is plug and play and does its job well enough, the siren is loud. I have the pager, too, so I can at least watch my bike leaving.

The HD security system is an immobilizing system. Bike cannot be started without the fob in range or via security code input.

Since most bikes stolen are not started and drove away but put on (or in a trailer) the best security is Good insurance and pay your bill on time. Those two things will be a tremendous asset if your bike is stolen. Oh yeah and always lock your fork and use a disk lock these two things make it harder to get on/in a trailer and hopefully they will move on the bike that is not locked.
