If you have a lift it is easy. the hardest thing is to break the bead on the old tire . Most dealers will not touch changing the tire if you bought it elsewhere. I change mine --I figure if I do both I save at least $250.00 GO FOR IT

Ya'll ought to try those Dyna beads for balancing. Easy to put in use an engraver thingie to vibrate in the beads. www.dynabeads.com Been using them for years now. 2oz per wheel and last as long as the tire.

+1. I'll generally give it a few spins by hand before I put it on the bike just to make sure it doesn't stop at the same place, but I've never had to add, remove or move any weights.

What xxxflhrci said.... I've always mounted my own.. been riding 35 years.. and in 35 years only got one bad tire that was out of round.. the rest I never balanced and they all rode fine. Go buy you a set of tire irons and take your time.. well worth it. BTW... don't use soapy water to lube the tire for mounting as it leaves water inside your tire which can corrode the aluminum rim... use a light film of vasoline on the bead, which will absorb into the tire...

Damn, if the OP hasn't got that tire changed by now I'd recommend taking it somewhere.
Why loose another year of riding over a hundred $$$.
