Scares me to death, I called my mom last week, she is 88 years old, she tells me she got here drivers license. WTF, didn't even have to take a test, this woman couldn't drive when she was 30. I "shutter" to think about how many people like her are on the road. O'yea, she ask me to borry one of our cars!!!!!!
I understand your feelings. In 2001 a young, left turning soccer mom totaled out my 97 Ultra and ME. It took me almost two years of very painful rehab to be able to walk and ride again. You WILL get over it, that is the good thing.
See this happening in Florida far too often.. First of all Glad you are okay second of all sue her insurance to the Max to where can buy an Brand New ULTRA CVO and have money left over to enjoy it for a year... My Dad was a skillfull driver til the day he passed at 86 .. My Mom on the other hand had the good sense to give up driving in her late 70's, realized she a danger on the road....
Glad to hear your doing ok, It seems like all states should retest at a certain age, I have class A cdl,s and have to retest every 4 years to keep my job, this now includes a federal back ground check for the haz mat. Just went yesterday and got motorcycle endorsment added. As of today I have $175.00 in my licenes. It only seems fair that our elderly should retest. The other side to this is that it will force their childern to take them to doctor, grocery store and chruch. This would be and inconvinance for most but would lessen the chance of someone including them getting hurt.
Like all others saying....Glad you're o.k. Be prepared to be sore all over tomorrow. It usually takes a day or two before all the pain and aches show up.
There are numerous alternate outcomes that could have happened. Please thank your maker.
Hang tough on the insurance-side of all of this. At least the first offer will be insulting. The insurance companies will push for a quick settlement and will assume you are stupid.
Don't rush, maybe get a lawyer, but I personally hate lawyers in the middle of all of this kind of stuff.
