bagger down
The owner of my wife's place of employment was 85 and almost everyday he would take them to lunch. My wife cringed every time because he was such a lousy driver, and to top it off he could't see squat. They all could'nt wait until his 86th birthday because he had to go to the DMV to re-new his license. Imagine their surprise when he announced they had re-newed it for 5 more years. Well, a week later on his way home he ran a red light and broadsided some lady and landed in the hospital, where they then proceded to conficate his license. After he almost killed someone. Unbelievable, only in calif. Glad you are okay.

Glad you are feeling better.
I have a friend that had to pull his Dad's license, felt he was unsafe. My Mom had to pull my Grandpa's.
I wish that they would just do the retest thing starting at say 65, that way the dmv can determine if they can still drive. My folks are not that old but they are not driving well anymore, but at 70 I will have a h!!! of a fight to take their licenses.

Sorry to hear of your accident. Just a note to anyone who has this happen. You absolutely did the right thing by demanding the police come. Your bike is probably totalled and having the fault clearly established should save you hassles with getting it replaced.
You might want to get to a doctor and just have yourself checked out too. Obviously, I'd recommend a chiropractor as long as you don't have broken bones.
If the insurance companies there are anything like here, you will have to fight every step of the way with her insurance to make sure you are made whole. Don't take no for an answer if they hassle you. Adjusters treat you ok if you are their customer, but they usually do everything in their power to delay, deny and defend if you are injured by their insured.
Good luck.

That stinks, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd gladly take a yearly driving test after I turned 65 just to make sure I was still competent behind the wheel. I think everyone should have to. There's plenty of older folks out there that still are able to drive just fine, but there's a WHOLE BUNCH of them that shouldn't be allowed to look at a car much less drive one.
Glad you are alright.
