Default Remaining Miles Indicator

I just had my fuel tank changed and now my remaing miles until empty on the odometer setting is not functioning. Is there a reset I need to do to get it working properly. I only have about 1/4 tank and it shows 241 miles remaining.

Fill the tank. That should reset it. If it doesn't start counting down after that, take it back.

It will "reset" on it's own once you get the bike speed past 10 mph. If it doesnt, then the fuel level sensor is jacked up.

BTW, I don't think they are junk. Mine is very accurate and I use it exclusively instead of the fuel gauge. I think the fuel gauge is garbage.

I like mine. Seems to work well and seems to be accurate in my experience. When my Low Fuel light comes on I know I have 1.2 gallons left in the tank. Several times I've gotten this same amount upon filling up. Each bike will vary though so you have to check it yourself to know for sure. When my light comes on I know I have 50 miles left and I'll be walking!

My 08 SG is very accurate, I have tested it time and time again, ran out of gas once - bad area, long story, but the digital display of miles remaining is right on. Now it will change drastically if I become more agressive with the throttle.
