adding a adjustable driver's backrest to a seat with no hole?
Guys, I have been having a lot of lower back pain when riding and after doing a lot of research I think my best bet is to add a backrest. The only issue is that it is a custom HD seat (not sure of the model name) leather with flames made by harley and it does not have a hole to place a backrest through it. I know the first thing you might say it get a different seat but I just had it upgraded over the winter by mean city and I would hate to have to start all over. Does anybody know place that can do this upgrade?
C'mon, fix your back first. If you are in pain, the backrest may or may not help, but it sure won't fix whatever is going on in your back that's causing the pain to start with.
I am working on the back issue. Seeing a chiro and did see my regular doctor which said after xrays that I have arthritis in my lower back. He gave me some exercise options to strengthen it but I quickly pointed out that I fight ameratur MMA and workout 5 days a week so I did not think it was a muscle issue. I am only 35 but I do notice after long rides that my back hurts more than usual so I am looking at anything that might help.

I know you like your seat...but why not get a second seat for those long trips...
Maybe try a new seat. I've had 2 back surgeries.. L5/S1.
This seat has gel and a high back giving a lot of support.
I rode out to the Grand Canyon one month after my last surgery
for a week, with 600 mile days... and had no real pain..
only a little stiffness over night.
It's a Saddlemen and is available for Tour bikes...
My brother has basically the same seat on his 2006 ElectraGlide
with a seperate backrest too.
