Got the same Snap-On socket about 25 years ago and I remember it cost about $23.00. That was the most I ever paid for any single socket. But it is a work of art and works great.
O2 socket is exactly what it is - but in a 9/16" six point.
Fuel injection line sockets also....but I had a hard time finding a 9/16 one. I thought some of the older diesels had 9/16 nuts on the fuel lines... I found a 14mm which is close.
I ended up using my 4" grinder with a cutting wheel to make one out of a cheap 9/16 deep well.
I bought a cheap 9/16 six point deep well socket. Was planning to cut a slot as recommended above. Now I am considering taking the cut all the way to the bottom of the socket, making it sort of a pass through socket with a slot. Then turn it with vise grips rather than a socket wrench. This way the socket will not twist the wire.

Thoughts?
The wires won't twist as long as you hold the lamp steady. Just don't want to pinch the wires.
the pawn shop near me has boxes of cheep china sockets. i dug around in the box until i found a 9/16 socket, asked the guy "how much"? "free", he said.
