Default Tank Insert

Here is another example of the "Iron Glass" inserts I ordered and put on the bike. Someone posted theirs, here is mine. Its different and I like it allot better then the Plastic FLX Sticker.

That insert looks great! Too bad I need the headset connector on my '09 Ultra. They haven't found a way to make a nice insert for the '09 Ultra. I did order an insert for my air cleaner cover and one for my horn cover. I hope they finish it soon. The wait is killin' me!

Thanks Donny,
here is a new photo of one built for George's 08 FLHTC. The bike is 2 tone white and pewter. Console insert is pewter ice dichroic glass.

I hear you on wait anxiety. Ordered a custom seat for my FLHR and waited like a dog for the UPS truck to bring my box.
We mixed and fired your wispy black red glass, great deep red color with flowing wisps of black opal, now your parts are in que for waterjet programming on the horn insert. Wish we could speed this up but such is the world of custom glass.
Thinking about the headset connector, if you dont use it a lot, maybe you could disconnect it from the console insert and run an extension under the console and seat. Then you could remove that unworthly plastic insert and replace it with a nice FLHTC insert.
The console is the same on the FLHT, FLHTC, FLHTCU and FLTR. Here is a photo of the stock console with the insert removed:

I've been emailing back and forth with Ted at Iron Glass and he will be firing up a console insert and more for me as soon as he gets the glass sample to me for approval. It's good to see vendors branching out with other creative customizing ideas. Chrome and billet has certainly been done enough

Ok since im not a cnc programmer but i have stayed at a super 8 ? That didnt come out right.. they are cutting these things to size with a water jet so isnt the connector you need just put in a round hole or is there more to it than that and why cant it be put in on the water jet? I dont have any experience with them but i do know how Edm machines work .. just wondering

Sounds great! As for the headset connector relocation, probably be a winter project. If it does happen, you know what will be filling the insert area!

Hey Ken, your samples of red lava and red ripple are finished. I'll pop them in the mail tomorrow. Lay them on a piece of chrome in the sun to see the glowing deep color effect.
enjoy, Ted
