Tail of the Dragon
Here's a link to a website that usually has up-to-date info on the Tail of the Dragon. Sometimes accidents are reported as being on the Dragon and they're actually on roads in the same area.
Stay safe. http://www.tailofthedragon.com/
Its dangerous if you override it, ride above your capability, or cross the centerline. If ya ride it smart, just like any busy street, you will be fine. Ride safe.
Curious if this was the riders fault or wreckless op of another.

I dont have the news story link on the dragon. It was on the tv news here in Sevierville,TN. I dont find US129 any different to ride than any other road either. I post this as it's "the season" to ride down here in TN. Hopefully a friendly reminder to enjoy and to ride smart allows another ride in the future. Two other unrelated bike accidents in Knoxville resulting in death also. One was a truck backing out of a driveway into the path of the bike.

I just seen on TV www.WBIR.com has questions about riding here. Thanks Joe. If enough of us post the message to slow down and be aware of our surroundings...it just may sink in to those who don't.
I think roads like US129 are hard for some people to ride because they aren't used to controlling their bikes in that way. People flock to that road because its great for twisties, curves, etc, but they figure just because they can scrape a floorboard on the exit ramp off the free way that they can carve up a road like that in the same fashion. Best advice i've ever heard for the Dragon (or any similar road) ride it first slowly, get used to it, and then ride it again until you know what you have in store for ya. We've all gotta be safe out there folks!
