The bike weighs close to 800 lbs. Any decent set of tie downs should work. You should look for tiedowns with coated hooks and rachets. I have found some very resonably priced motorcycle/atv tie down sets at Walmart & Target.

+1. I have a good set (black) from Wallyworld and a good set (lime green) from Sam's. I didn't look but I'm sure they were made in Chiny.
It's hard to trust a $23,000 motorcycle to a $4 tiedown strap.
Northern Tool may have some better ones. Again, you get what you pay for.
Home Depot has some good motorcycle strap 1000#ers. They have a soft strap connection and a ratchet as well so you don't have to place a hook on any bike parts. They sell for about 25 bucks.
What strength or weight-capacity should tie-downs be for trailering a street glide? any recommended brands?
Thank you in advance for any insights.
Ancra. http://www.ancratiedowns.com/ Real motorcycle tie down equipment. I must have 20 pairs, some older than you. I never use a tie down as a primary if it's more than two years old, but I've never had one fail.
Ratchet tie downs work if you use them wisely, but *NEVER* use 'em on anything but a hard point! I've seen 'em break handlebars, & tear bolted parts off bikes. Wanna see something funny/scary? Watch a friend try to control a hotrod bike with handlebars that have broken between the clamps after he used ratchet tie downs..........Gettin' him back to the campground was an exercise in "impromptu engineering".
