Smile Silver Face Gauges

Anybody make an adapter plug to use newer silver face gauges(06-09)(Street Glide) on an 01 FLHTC-I ? The speedo and tach have different plugs. The air, oil fuel, and volt plugs in the same.

HD PN 74457-00, page 464 of the '09 P&A catalog, shows silver faced speedo and tach for '00-'03 for Electra Glides and Road Glides, but that would be the easy way, right?

Check the HD parts book for the '06 Touring bikes or newer model years under the interconnect harness. It will provide the part nos. for the connector and wire pins/sockets for the speedo and tach. Alternatively, PM Dawg and ask him. He's helped many here with similar part no. requests. This approach requires disassembly of the speedo and tach connectors on your bike and replacing them with the connectors compatible with the newer speedo and tach. Never heard of an adapter plug per se. Let us know what you find.

EDIT: Since I have never done precisely what you are contemplating (using newer speedo/tach on your older bike contrary to fitment information provided by HD in the P&A catalog) you would need to compare the wiring diagrams for your bike's speedo and tach with the wiring diagrams for the newer speedo/tach so that you can confirm that the same functions are present and, if they are, assemble the new connectors correctly; i.e. compatible with the new speedo and tach. Personally, I don't know if the connectors on the newer speedo and tach are different from what's on your older speedo and tach--that parts book will answer that for you. But, you have to wonder what other differences there may be, if any, between the silver faced speedo and tach that HD offers for the '00-'03 bikes compared to the silver faced speedo and tach that HD offers for '04 and newer bikes.

I installed the spun aluminum gauges on my '04, so presumably the '04 parts nos. for the speedo and tach connectors/etc. for '04 and newer bikes would also be compatible for your project.

Good luck with your project.
