I used to have a Heritage with a throttle lock. I used it for cruise control. If you set it only as tight as needed for holding the throttle still but loose enough to roll on or off by hand, it should not be a problem. Of course, sometimes a good bump will roll it off for you unexpectedly, so keep it in mind at all times. Good way to rest the hand.

I went ahead and orderd the cruise control for my new SG.
I figured that If I'm spending this much, I might as well get it exactly as I want it. (Of course, I've already planned my first few mods)
I never saw the use for cruise control on a bike..........that is, until I got a bike with it installed. Now I can never figure out how I went without it
I put a Throttle Mate lever on my throttle lock and use it all the time. With the Throttle Lock it is easy and fast to adjust the throttle lock, even with heavy gloves.
thanks, is was checking out the price on throttle locks. 13 bucks plus the ride. Im thinking that mmight be the cheapest thing ive put on my bike. thanks again to all. unitas

I agree with Bruce, I love my cruise control. If I ever get another Harley it will have cruise as well. The throttle lock is a must if you don't have cruise control, and I have used them, they don't throttle up or down on the hills like the cruise will or maintain a constant speed, but they work pretty good.
