I would like some info on the detachable kit that lets you take the tourpak off for solo riding, I've seen an ultra with the tourpak gone and the luggage guards removed and it looked just like a street glide with driving lights, pretty sweet. How hard is it to install and how much $$$$

I use a mustang solo with backrest in the solo position with a king tour pack. I removed the tour pack backrest (a few staples) and the mustang backrest fits nicely into the space. Very comfy!

Well, how about that? All this time looking for someone who has done this...

Thanks for the pic (with the speakers). Did you run into any issues that really stick out in your mind?

I'm thinkin' about buying a brand new 2009 Classic, and move the stock tour pac forward with a custom solo seat.

Seems as though the factory forward kit whould do the trick.

If not, then PLEASE explain.

Moved mine forward with the HD kit and then had to move it back 2" because it was too close. I used a air ride seat from a cop bike. Very comfy now.

No issues other than it's a bit more challenging to swing a leg over when getting on the bike due to less space. Since the pic you saw I have removed the speaker pods; I recently added a amp for the front speakers and the rear speakers were useless. This gives me more room to stretch on long rides. Mine is detachable so it's pretty quick to take on or off. I can also change back to the 2 up rack in about 15 minutes if desired. The handling of the bike is a bit better with the weight of the TP over the rear wheel. Hope this helps.

Here is my setup. I have a C&C solo seat and put a Motherwell fender rack on when not using the TP. I only use the TP when taking trips.

I have used a Corbin Streamliner trunk on my 2006 SG and now my 2009 SG. It comes with a backrest and you will need to buy the solo detachable trunk rack to mount it. I like the looks and comments from others. It is not cheap, but after you buy everything for a HD trunk it is close to the same costs. They also make a Fleetliner trunk which is larger.
