You are one lucky camper, but how did you resist waiting a couple of weeks just to look at the 2010 models? Too much temptation there for me. But congrats on the new scoot.
Thank you everybody, there are now only a few hours until Im going to the dealer yes yes yes!!!!
To answer some of your questions: I sold my beemer because I have always dreamt about owning a Harley and now the chance is there. I deffinently not saying that BMW is a bad motorcycle not at all. Its great and I have loved every moment with that bike.
I didnt wait for the 2010 models because I wanted a harley now simple as that :-) The dealer wanted to give me a great price on an '08 but with all the upgrades for '09 I said no to an '08. He had a lot of '08 touring models standing in the showroom dont think he can sell any of them. He has almost no other '08 models of the harley lineup in his showromm only touring bikes.
And yes I still ride a BMW as a cop bike. A K1200P. Unfortunately I cant decide wich work-bike I ride otherwise I would get a harley for that too :-)
Im sitting in my ridinggear just waiting to go to the dealer.... oh boy its like christmas as a child :-D
i'm happy for you, i bet you're reading everything you can get your hands on, bout your new bike. good for you, ride safe and enjoy your miles with smiles. i still smile when getting on my streetglide. it's something that i couldn't afford earlier in life, but ride safe and be happy, it's a great choice you made. congrats.
Don't forget to show us a few pictures of your new bike...
P.S.: I've been a BMW rider too... And the "dark side" is near for me... ;o)
I still run a BMW, alongside my 'real' bikes! We just came back from a 2,500 mile tour with a fleet of BMWs, including GS Adventures, GTs and RTs. From the comfort of my old Glide we watched and commented on how much they were all being blown around by cross-winds. So that is a good reason to change - stability. Many of them were using strap-on seat pads too, so another reason is comfort!
I wish I could'a kept my BMW.. I don't think it would've be ridden much after getting the new street glide, but it was a great bike.. There's nothing like finding a fire path or logging trail and just exploring it.. Congrats on the new scoot!
