I am in Chapel Hill, TN tonight and want to go to Helen GA in the morning. I don't want to go by interstate 24. Anyone have any good suggestions? what kind of road is 41A?

I don't know the area but here's a google map,,,,avoiding highways...... Wish I was there,,,instead of this desk... looks like a nice ride!

 

If you are in Chapel Hill, you are about 20 min from me. The link provided above should be a pretty good ride.

Just curious why avoiding 24? Going up through Monteagle is a blast on 24.

 

Thank You, I am wondering what kind of road this is. The wife is riding her streetglide on this trip and I don't want to put her in a situation that she won't be comfortable with. She has ridden the dragon and the cherohala(sp) skyway. I was nervous for her if you know what I mean.

We want to ride the backroads, see some stuff, avoid freeway speeds. just poke along the and enjoy a nice ride through the mountains

Makes perfect sense, I was just curious. I have been down 41 but it has been quite a long time. I would think if she can do the dragon she can do 41. But like I said, its been a good bit. Until 24 came along, 41 was the major highway if that tells you anything.
