I see that these have been discussed here before, but there was something that was never answered. Some reported a cornering issue. Is this a real problem? Does anyone else have a report on the other devise, the Ride-str8?
Thanks
It mentions scraping the True-Track on turns.............not good, hard to believe for such a highly rated device.
It eliminates swingarm deflection while cornering on Baggers.
Hoping to hear more from users of it.
Word on the True Track is that the bracket covers the cooling fins for the trans and interferes with airflow. The Ride Str8 doesn't have this problem but for $450 I think I can live with a little sway on turns.
I find it hard to believe that you'd put any part of a True Track on the ground sooner than maybe half your footboard when going at it in the corners. However, I can believe bottoming out onto it in rough corners if the rear suspension isn't getting the job done.
Spartan...that was a concern of mine as well but I figured there's a good chance there'd some heat transfer to the TT mount on the tranny and it has a lot of surface area to aid dispersing it.
No...I don't work for TT but I am sold on getting one. A friend of mine does have one on his EG and swears by it. However..... the company seems to be AWOL. Anybody know what's going on with them? They are a sponsor on this site but the website has been dead for some time now.
I was this close[sm=deal.gif] to buying the tru-track before my getting my Progressive 440's.
I had a high speed wobble, found my shocks blown and my stabilizer links worn out. Fixed both issues and the bike tracks true, no longer any wobble, and rock steady at any speed. I can get pretty agressive at speed and the bike is under me the whole time.
I would go Progressive 440 B4 True Track for the $$$$. ALOT more BANG for the BUCK !!!!!
Regarding the original question....
The True-Track does not compromise ground clearance. As one poster stated, it might touch down on a rough road under maximum suspension compression. Still very unlikely. I have beveled my footboards and ground away parts of the kick stand, but the TT is not so vulnerable compared to those.
I have been using the TT for several thousand miles now, and have nothing but praise for the device.
You can validate the design for yourself by studying a rubber-mount Sportster. The same idea is used to prevent lateral movement of the XL powertrain.
