on my SG i have SE Pro Performance 65115-98B's. I have not happy with sound, it's just not loud enough for my taste. Right now i dont want to spend on new mufflers, winter project. I was wnodering if there people out there who have experience in removing the baffles, is it possible?, how do we go about it?
I wouldn't recommend you removing the baffles. Your mufflers still has values and can still be resold once you upgrade. Of course, the baffles can be removed by an experienced machine shop. If you try to remove them yourself, they can be damaged n the process.
I would suggest maybe a used pair of aftermarket mufflers that are a bit louder than the SEs. Some of them include: Samson, Vance & Hines, Kerker, etc. I had SE mufflers before and never did like them. The sound was too tinny, and I wanted a deeper sound.
So, that's my .02cents worth. Other folks on this forum may have different thoughts.
