Default Dared to be different

Got a Rinehart 2-1 System in-bound for the RD King,

from all the threads I see looks like removing the stock stuff takes up most of the time. Anybody out there installed the 2-1? If so, how difficult, is it, and how much time should I be prepared to spend?

Thanks in advance

My 2-1 Thunderheader only took maybe 30min if that.
I'm sure you will like the Rinehart 2-1 I've heard good things about them.

Haven't done 2 into 1, but installed V&H true duals last weekend and it took about an hour and a half. Seems the removal may take longer than the install. Don't forget new gaskets.

I too went and bought the SE exhaust gaskets, 4 new nuts and 2 new "clips" and a 6 pack of Bud.

Since I bought mine used, there was no paperwork, so I had to figure out everything myself. Took longer to install the heat shields than the pipes, 1 hr to install the pipe and 3hrs to install the heat shield after the pipe was installed. But I got the pipes for half price so it was worth it.

Don't know if that was the correct way or not.

My opinion only: T-Rex are pure crap! They look great but that's where it ends. They are obnoxiously loud and their pitch is higher then I like. I have a race team at my dealership that routinely tunes using SERT. Their boss if currently ranked #7 in point standings on the AHDRA and his teammate is #1. The beast they could do was get 66 HP and gas mileage went in the tank at 32 MPG.

I was frustrated with their inabilty so I took my Ultra to another tuner in So Cal. He found a hole in the right side pipe. Since I was on a road trip I had 2 options. Live with it until I got home and try and get a replacement or change them. The So Cal tuner said Hard Krome builds the worst pipes. With that and the low mileage, lack of quality and sound that required ear plugs; I decided to change them. I heard the Rinehart duals but opted for the 2-1 because of increased performance and mileage.

I have a stock 88 with SE AC and the 2-1's. I get 75 HP, 80 Torque and last weekend on my ride to Bryce Canyon with my wife I got an amazing 55 MPG. Average 48 overall and had all the power low and high end I needed.

I've seen other comments about T-Rex quality and this is only my opinion. I threw away $730 worth of pipes and I would never buy another Hard Krome product. If you want True Duals check V&H long Shots or Rinehart's.

I'll post a picture of the Rinehart's tonight.

Bob
