ARRGGHH A Hundred + in Harley manuals, and clymer has it!!!
Does it happen to have a CPS test?
Thanks again,JD
Did it through any codes? The book says code 41 is crank sensor and 42 is cam position sensor.
for the crank sensor it says you should have 1 vac minimum at the CKP....
While cranking the engine then if it does then check continuity between pin 3 on the connect back to the other end at the computer, if it does you have a broke wire.
Are you using the method of jumping the two pins on the diag plug to get the codes? I've ran across a couple of methods, not sure which is for my scoot.
I'll be looking for the clymer's manual this weekend(have to work)
Tackled the CPS this am. The new one ohmed at 1k, the old 5 M ohms. Except for some hassle with the oil filter. I have the HD Premium Oil Cooler, the adapter plate kept wanting to spin and the cheap *** oil filter wrench didn't want spin the filter! Worked out as I was able to move the oil filter outa the way to get at the sensor. Searched on how to get the Deutsch plug apart, tied Kite string to the wires and pulled the old sensor harness out. Tied the new sensor to the kite string and pulled it back thru!
Somedays I'm just FRIKIN BRILLIANT
Put the plug back together, a wire tie.....and ridin in 80 degrees and dodging the monsoon's (Thunder storms).
