I guess it all depends on what a person is looking for. I sold my 2006 Fatboy a few months ago for 17,500. Clearly never would have gotten that on a trade, but the person who bought it loved everything that I had done to it and knew what the $$ amount would be to take a stock bike and get it to that point.
I've noticed one thing about most of the dealers that are still in business. They want to make $$ on everything they sell. How you gonna do any business with that as the operating objective? Geez, don't those guys know we should be getting our stuff at less than wholesale?? Now I know why everyone calls em Stealers....

Stopped at a dealer yesterday that was putting on a BBQ.
For the hell of it asked about a trade in for my '06 road glide. The salesman said up front that I could do better selling it on Craigs list which i knew.
He said he bases the trade ins on KBB.Said he would give me a little more since it was a RG.
He said he would give 12 for it.Of course i said no.
I relize its different in some states than others but I have personally never seen deals on used bikes like there are now!

Dealers are in business to make money just like any other buisness otherwise there out of business. Some are better than others there is a dealer in my neck of the woods been treating people right for many yrs so he pretty much sells out of all bikes every year.
