our experience here at the shop is that the 1156 bulbs blink faster than the GE199f bulbs.
I needed a rear directional today, and wasn't near any Harley dealers, and the old GE 199 looked just like the GE 1156 I got at Ace Hardware. Is there any difference?

I also noticed there was no dielectric grease on old bulb, and I used some when replacing. My bike is a 2003, and only had 2k miles on it when I bought it, so I assume that was the factory installed bulb I replaced. Is that typical? Any reason to not use dielectric grease?
